Grade 3 titanium alloy is a medium-strength titanium alloy, UNS number R50700, which is widely used in aviation, chemical industry, medical equipment and other fields. Its main characteristics are good corrosion resistance, high strength and toughness, and good weldability and machinability, which is suitable for a variety of engineering needs.
The impurity content of industrial pure titanium is higher than that of chemical pure titanium, so its strength and hardness are also slightly higher. Its mechanical and chemical properties are similar to those of stainless steel. Compared with titanium alloy, pure titanium has lower strength and better plasticity. It can be welded, cut and processed, and has good corrosion resistance. It is better than austenitic stainless steel in oxidation resistance, but has poor heat resistance. The impurity content of Grade 1 , Grade 2 , Grade 3, and Grade 4 increases in turn, and the mechanical strength and hardness increase in turn , but the plasticity and toughness decrease in turn .
It is mainly used for stamping parts and corrosion-resistant structural parts with working temperature below 350℃, which are not subjected to much force but require high plasticity, such as aircraft frames, skin ship valves, pipelines, seawater desalination equipment, pumps, cooler agitators, distillation towers, impellers, compressor valves, diesel engine pistons, etc. Grade 1 and Grade 2 can be used as low-temperature structural materials below -253℃ due to their good low-temperature toughness and low-temperature strength.
